Gunjan Vermani Director and Registered Physiotherapist
She has been practicing physiotherapy from 2006 and completed her 2 years specialization in Neurological Sciences (University Topper) in 2008. She has been taking many hands-on workshops and courses to continuously enhance her clinical knowledge and skills.
Gunjan is certified in the treatment of urinary incontinence, central pain management, Concussion rehab, Manual therapy level 1, and performs acupuncture and dry needling.
She is also an ADP Authorizer for walkers and wheelchairs apart from assessing and prescribing for orthotics, compression socks and custom bracing.
Vijay Sharma Manager and Registered Physiotherapist
With his over 12 years of practice in physiotherapy, he has experience in sports injuries, orthopaedic injuries and disorders, arthritis and related conditions like Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia, autoimmune disorders etc, and various neurological conditions like Parkinson's Ds., Traumatic Brain and spinal cord injuries etc.
He completed his ACPAC -Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Arthritis Care certification from University of Toronto in 2015 while practicing and managing a few clinics in Ottawa and he was first one to do that from any clinic in Canada.
He is a firm believer in continually updating his skills and is certified in TMJ/jaw pain treatment,arthritic care, Manual therapy, Concussion rehab, Vestibular rehab, Graston technique, Acupuncture, Dry needling, Chinese traditional Cupping, M2T Blade and Kinesiology Taping.

Mehul Patel Registered Physiotherapist
He earned the degree of Bachelors of Physiotherapy in 2008 with honours. Mehul completed his clinical apprenticeship and was mentored by experienced orthopaedic surgeons & neurologists.
Mehul identifies root causes of pain and biomechanical dysfunction while providing proper education to his patients on factors behind injury, physical faults and gives ergonomics advices. He employs a variety of specific manual techniques along with therapeutic exercises to address patients’ needs.
Mehul has undertaken certification courses in Concussion rehabilitation, TMJ and jaw pain management, Kinesio taping, M2T blade, mulligan mobilization techniques to name a few and also performs acupuncture and dry needling.
Nafis Khan Physiotherapist
Nafis completed his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2014. After graduation he joined the public sector and served as a Clinical Physiotherapist in Disability Service and Support Centre for almost 2 years. In order to achieve broader understanding of how health service works, he pursued his post-graduation in Public Health from Liverpool John Moores University, UK.
During his practice as a clinical physiotherapist he has worked with children suffering from cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, muscular dystrophy, autism, hemophilia, club foot and so on. For a brief period, he also served in the hospital setting where he managed musculoskeletal and neurological cases. He loves travelling and photography. His favorite sport is Cricket.
Hiral Thakkur PTA
Hiral completed her Bachelor's of Physiotherapy in 2017 from India. After that, she continued further studies and graduated in Fitness and health Promotion from Conestoga College in 2019. She has experience working with all sorts of patients in different setups. She has also attended two international and few national conferences.
Her hobbies include listening to music, cooking and playing badminton.
Svetlana Lopez Vargas Registered Massage Therapist
Since graduating from CDI College as a registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in 2006, Svetlana has had the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary clinics alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, naturopaths, providing treatments to clients with wide variety of conditions, including chronic strain, postural imbalances, sports injuries, post surgeries, pregnancy massage. She has also experienced firsthand the benefits massage can bring to those suffering from systemic conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s.
Svetlana’s goal has been to continue learning as much as possible to give her clients the most up-to-date and effective treatments. Among her postgraduate courses are

Dave Hanemaayer “Lazer Dave” Certified Laser Therapist and Registered Massage Therapist
Dave has 10+ years of experience in the areas of laser therapy, medical acupuncture and massage therapy.
He specializes in the technique of laser therapy and laser acupuncture. Laser therapy is an emerging healing therapy which exposure to stimulates positive clinical effects such as pain reduction, faster healing and reduced withdrawal symptoms from addictions like nicotine.
As a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), Dave blends hands-on massage techniques and laser to boost results for treating pain, stress, scar tissue, muscle tears, arthritis, tendonitis, inflammation, disc degeneration and more.

Vivek Srivastava Yoga Therapist
Vivek is what one may call a Corporate Yogi. After 25 years of experience in companies like Cisco, Dell & Nortel and while working both in India and North America in very stressful work environments, he understands the challenges faced by today’s workforce. High levels of stress and fast-paced lifestyle on a global level have given rise to physical and emotional health issues. Looking at the demands this life style brings on health management, Vivek decided to formally educate himself in the holistic ancient sciences of healing and spirituality.

Zoe Kung TCM Acupuncturist
We are proud to introduce to you, the latest addition to our team. Hsiang Lan KUNG (Zoe) is a Medical Acupuncturist who has received qualified TCM & Acupuncture courses and clinical practice training at the TCM School in BC and currently hold the license of R.Ac. and R.TCM.P. in Ontario with CTCMPAO & in BC with CTCMA. Not only does she have many years of experiences training and learning from R.TCM. P. YANG Sheng-Ming in Vancouver who is a disciple of famous Beijing TCM & Acupuncture professors (YU Ying-Ao & WU Xi-Jing) in China’s Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences; but she also has independent clinical experience for several years afterwards. Her patients are multi-culture; thus she can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese to communicate with them.
Michael Ramos PTA
Michael Ramos studied Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. He moved to Canada to migrate with his family and has, since then, worked in various industries. With a little luck, and a new baby boy, he finally came back to his field and has been working as a budding physiotherapist's assistant at Physiocare.
Outside of having fun at work, he loves to keep himself updated on the latest news, trends and technology. He likes to work with his hands, follow directions to a T and educate himself on everything under the sun.
Jhoanne Ramos PTA
Jhoanne Ramos is a physiotherapist's assistant at Physiocare Physiotherapy & Rehab Centre. She completed her university program and holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She considers her education as one of her greatest assets. The learning and training from the university has enhanced her talents, skills, and fulfilled her determination to help and provide support for others.
After moving to Canada and started working in the healthcare industry, she gained experience in communicating and treating people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Dealing with patients has taught her a great deal about valuing life and how we spend it. It teaches a person how to be sensitive, compassionate, to listen, provide support, motivate, counsel, and cooperate. Most importantly, it teaches a person how to be grateful for all the things you currently have and can do. Apart from being a compassionate worker, she is versatile and a fast learner who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. She will work hard to prove to you that she is a great addition to the team.
During her leisure time, she is never without anything to do as she enjoys spending time with her family, doing long drives, hiking, binging on T.V. shows, watching movies, reading, cooking, trying out new restaurants, and, with a little too much enthusiasm, to organizing. She is currently working on getting her full license in Canada, with just a minor bump along the way.
Jasper Davenport Massage Therapist
Jasper holds a diploma from the International Academy of Massage in Ottawa where he graduated with honours. Being well versed in physical assessment he is able to identify muscular imbalances, movement restrictions and postural issues that help to get to the root cause of pain or dysfunction in order to treat the patients with maximum efficiency.
Jasper can use a variety of techniques to treat his patients including trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilization, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching. He is also a certified Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist (FRCMs). FRC is a comprehensive evidence based approach to training the joints and tissues of the body to achieve optimal mobility and control over end ranges. This approach is tailored to the patients needs and demands of their job, sport, or hobby.
Dealing with his fair share of injuries Jasper also knows the importance of rehabilitative exercise. He believes that the manual therapy applied by the therapist complements rehabilitation exercises, and that movement is important. He believes that the sooner movement or load can be reintroduced to a joint or muscle, the quicker recovery can be.
Being involved for over a decade in Thai Boxing both competitively and as a coach Jasper has special interest with athletic injuries in both the acute and chronic stages.
His hobbies include strength training, Thai Boxing, cycling and researching new treatment modalities and philosophies."
Surekha Sanapala PTA
Surekha Sanapala received her Bachelors in Physiotherapy in 2011 from NTR University of Health Sciences. She worked primarily in outpatient orthopedics, having spent the majority of her time in a family run practice. She continues to dedicate her time and efforts to her continued education as well keeps updated with recent research, in order to provide the best possible care to her patients. Surekha makes continuous effort to educate her patients about the condition and ongoing treatment. She firmly believes that an educated patient is an empowered patient and is much less prone to future injury.
Hobbies: With her passion for dance, Surekha has an abiding love for movement.

Varani Gudapati PTA
Varani graduated from Keele University (UK) with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. She worked as a Physiotherapist (PT) for 2 1/2 years at Apollo Hospitals, India.
Recently (2019), she immigrated to Canada and started her new career as a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) here at Physiocare.
She strongly opines that; movement is the key to promote physical & psychological well-being of a person.
As a PTA, Varani provides reliable services to the patients (as assigned by the PT), alongside ensures to communicate and make the patient comfortable with the treatment.
In her spare time, she indulges in activities like gardening, arts and crafts.
Varani expressed that, she is enjoying the excellent work culture and is embracing the patient friendly approach of Physiocare.
Drew has spent over 15 years playing sports at various levels from recreational to high level competitive. His passion for sports has translated into a career in Kinesiology and future career in Athletic Therapy. He graduated from Ontario Tech University with a Bachelor of Health Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science.
Drew has spent the past year as a student trainer with the Durham College Rugby and Soccer teams as well as with the Ontario Tech Soccer team and the Ontario East Field Hockey Teams. His experience in athletic therapy has allowed him to excel in taping skills and sport medicine.
He excels in interpersonal skills and never afraid to spark a conversation with anyone. His communication skills make everyone feel comfortable and welcome in the clinic. He enjoys resistance training and being active through sport.
Nela Mernik BSc. HK
Nela graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science Honors in Human Kinetics. While at the University, she worked as a therapist with the women's hockey team. Since graduating Nela has taught exercise classes for the city of Ottawa and worked at various long-term care facilities promoting exercise and healthy living. Nela is always eager to learn and has obtained certifications in older adult’s exercise, vestibular rehabilitation and kinetic taping, and is always looking for new opportunities to learn, grow, and apply her knowledge and skills.
Venumadhav Madhadi PTA
He earned his Bachelors in Physiotherapy in 2007 from NTR University of Health Sciences, India. After working under eminent orthopedic surgeon for a year he went to pursue his PG Diploma in community welfare in Australia. Gaining enough experience working in Australia for 5 years, he returned to India and worked as a physiotherapist specializing in post operative physio care and rehabilitation.
Recently (2019), He immigrated to Canada and started as a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) here at Physiocare. His hobbies include playing cricket and travelling.
June Duffy Accounts
June came to Canada with her husband and young family from Ireland in 2001. She has spent the past 17 years working with Physiotherapists, Family Doctors and Sports Medicine Doctors and has a lot of knowledge in the Medical Field. June started with Physiocare as a Receptionist and has moved on to Accounts and is our Office Manager. If you need any information or you have any suggestions, then June is the one to speak to.
In her spare time June enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 3 grandchildren. She also loves walking her dogs, cooking & knitting.
Sharri-Anne Parsons Receptionist
I graduated from Algonquin Careers Academy with honors in Medical Office Administration in July 2015. Since graduating, I have worked at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Two Men and a Truck Ottawa, Papanack Zoo and now with Physiocare Physiotherapy since July 2017.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I am also a big animal lover, so I spend a lot of time with my pets. When I am not busy at home with my husband and 3 boys, I do love to ski in the winter and go camping in the summer.
