Bharat Sekhri

Bharat Sekhri
Registered Physiotherapist, Certified Manual Therapist

Bharat’s goal as a Physiotherapist is to minimize pain, improve function, and enhance his patient’s quality of life. He believes that there is no universal treatment approach that is right for every individual. Thus, he utilizes a variety of specialized techniques to address each individual’s unique challenge or problem, whether it’s pain, weakness, stiffness, scar tissue, or a musculoskeletal condition. Bharat has completed advanced post-graduate training in manual therapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, acupuncture, dry-needling, muscle energy technique, and core strengthening.

Bharat completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in 2011 from I.A.M.R, Ghaziabad, which is one of the top medical institutions in India. He became certified as a Manual Therapist from the Manual Therapy Foundation of India in 2012. Since moving to Canada, Bharat has furthered his Manual Therapy studies in spinal manipulation and became a Certified Manual Therapist through the Swodeam Institute in Ottawa in 2016.

Bharat’s career began as an I.C.U Physiotherapist in a super-specialty hospital in New Delhi, India. His experience in the I.C.U unit allowed him to become empathetic to the specific needs and concerns faced by individuals and families.

Bharat’s keen interest in Orthopedics inspired him to make a switch to the orthopedic division, where he successfully treated a wide variety of orthopedic conditions ranging from acute to chronic injuries as well as sports injuries. Additionally, he treats post-surgical shoulder repairs, ACL, PCL, Patellar ligament reconstruction, and hip and knee replacements. He has a special interest in treating shoulders (rotator cuff tears), backs, and knees.

Bharat has been living in Canada since 2015 where he has been practicing at some fast-paced clinics in the Ottawa area.

In his leisure time, Bharat enjoys playing cricket, billiards and learning the French language.
